“Rooms Within” is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is a centre run by people with personal experience of mental illness. The aim is to present to the public what life is like living with a mental disability. It is important to hear from a group whose voice is seldom heard in society. “Rooms Within” is supported economically by the Swedish Allmänna Arvsfonden. 

We have produced an exhibition, “The History of the Psyche – a journey through 4000 years”, which is currently at the Gothenburg Museum of Natural History (until late November 2010). Download pdf

We also publish a magazine in Swedish called “Inblick”. In addition, we give classes and lectures on the topic of mental illness to both professionals in the field and the general public. 

“Rooms Within” is still under construction. The project was launched in early 2007. 

We invite all people with personal experience of mental illness to take part in the work.
